The University of Tennessee School of Music’s Ready for the World Music Series continues on Sunday, January 11, with a look at Eastern Europe. Guest artists will include violist Yuri Gandelsman, and his wife, the pianist Janna Gandelsman. UT School of Music’s Miroslav Hristov, violin, will be joining them as part of the Kaleidos Duo (with pianist, Vladimir Valjarevic), and Dr. Ryan McCormack will present a short lecture on the music to be presented. A reception begins at 12:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center with the program in the Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall beginning at 2:00 p.m. That program will include works by Prokofiev, Martinu, Chopin, Enescu, and Staynov. There is no admission charge.
