Tonight, March 3, at 8pm in the Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall on the UT campus–Program #2 in Kevin Class‘ series, the “Complete Piano Sonatas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.”
This evening’s performance takes on the so-called “Paris” sonatas, K. 330, 331, 332, and 333: Piano Sonata No. 10 in C major, K. 330; Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K. 331; Piano Sonata No. 12 in F major, K. 332; and Piano Sonata No. 13 in B-flat major, K. 333. Despite their name, scholarship has indicated that the composition date of the works was not that of Mozart’s time in Paris (1778), but more likely 1783-84, when Mozart was living in Vienna or visiting in Salzburg.
The concluding two parts of this program will be presented during the fall of 2016.
