After you’ve filled up on Thanksgiving leftovers and satisfied your shopping whims and requirements this Friday—the infamous Black Friday—there is a load of art and theatre openings to finish off the day.
At the Knoxville Museum of Art, you’ll find opening day of the East Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition sponsored by The Knoxville Museum of Art and the Tennessee Art Education Association. This is the 12th year of the exhibition, open to middle and high school students, grades 6 – 12 in public, private, or home schools from around East Tennessee. For young artists, this is a significant opportunity as they explore creative interests and possible careers, offering them the opportunity to participate in a juried exhibition and to display their talents in a professional art museum environment. The show continues through Sunday, January 14, 2018.
Making it through the juried process was no simple feat, as there were 1073 entries with only 349 making it through. The top winners are:
