Changes are in the air for the Knoxville Choral Society. Recently, the organization announced that its artistic director and conductor for the last 22 years, Dr. Eric Thorson, would be stepping down in June 2018.
In addition to the KCS’s search for a new artistic director, it has also announced that it is holding auditions for new members on Thursday, January 4. All voice parts are being auditioned.
Auditions will include assessment of vocal quality, sight-reading, and tonal memory drills. Those auditioning are not required to prepare music in advance.
Auditions begin at 6:00 PM. To schedule an audition time, call 865-312-2440 or send an e-mail to membership@knoxvillechoralsociety.org. Once a time is set, audition location and other details will be provided.
