Inner Voices String Quartet returns this Friday evening, May 11, 2018, with a new and different program: III. Let’s see—does III refer to the ensemble’s third public performance or the fact that there are three works on their program?
The performance will begin and end with two works by contemporary composers, Is Now Not Enough? by Knoxvillian Dosia McKay and Strum by New York-based composer, Jessie Montgomery. (Montgomery’s Starburst was performed by the KSO Chamber Orchestra in February.) In between, the quartet will be joined by KSO violinist Robyn Quinnett for Brahms Viola Quintet in F Major, Op. 88, “Spring”. Quartet violinist Rachel Loseke will move over to viola for the Brahms.
The quartet consists of Rachel Loseke and Ruth Bacon, violins; Christina Graffeo, viola; and Jeanine Lafitte, cello.
