Alternative photography and/or time-based media is the subject for Obscura II, an exhibition hosted by the Big Camera and A1LabArts, set for showing at the Emporium, January 3-31, 2020.
Entrants should note the following requirements and the delivery deadlines of December 13 or 15.
All awards will be chosen by the public, in person, by daily voting at The Emporium. Best in Show: The Cathy & Bernie Award* will receive $500. Three Honorable Mentions will receive a one year Membership to A1LabArts valued at $50.
Entry is limited ONLY to photo and time based media. All photography entries should fall under some type of alternative category, in other words, we would like to see your creativity as opposed to straight out of the camera imagery. This includes things like collage, mixed-media, darkroom work, digital manipulation, historic processes and more!
All work must be ready to hang or display, including all audio and visual components. You must demonstrate this at drop off, or we will be unable to accept your work.
You may enter up to TWO works for $30 for the General Public or $25 for A1LabArts Members. Depending on the amount of art work entered and space constraints of the Balcony gallery space, we reserve the right to display one or both pieces in the show. Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid through the Eventbrite ticketing link on this Event. Eventbrite fees are NOT given to The Big Camera or A1LabArts and will add a nominal fee when you check-out.
You must also complete an Entry Form at https://forms.gle/nNhpbYg5UFuSnjZJ8 – your work will NOT be accepted without both payment of the Entry Fee and a Complete Google Form.
All work MUST be delivered to A1LabArts in person on Friday, December 13, 2019 between 5-7 PM or Sunday, December 15, 2019 between 2-4 PM. Alternate arrangements may be made ONLY by contacting Anna Lawrence or Donna Moore.
