It has been a constant discussion among performing arts organizations over the last year — how to maintain a performing presence while adhering to pandemic safety standards for audiences and performers…without compromising the essence of the art. Clarence Brown Theatre is offering its return to a major production with an on-demand Airness by Chelsea Mercantel. The performance will be available on the Broadway On Demand platform on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, this week and next, April 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17.
Directed by former CBT MFA fellow Steve Sherman, this production features actors from UT Theatre graduate and undergraduate program: Callie Bacon (Nina), Davion Tynarious Brown (Announcer/Sprite Exec/Hooded Figure), Celeste Pelletier (Astrid “Cannibal Queen” Anderson), Jordan Gatton-Bumpus (Ed “Shreddy Eddy” Leary); and local actors Malik Baines (Gabe “Golden Thunder” Partridge), Brady Moldrup (David “D Vicious” Cooper), and Andrew Shipman (Mark “Facebender” Lender).
