Ewing Gallery: Grant Gibson
The newly renovated Ewing Gallery of Art and Architecture is a professionally-managed university gallery on the campus of UT Knoxville, funded jointly by the School of Art and the College of Architecture and Design.
Their current exhibition features the work of architect Grant Gibson. Exhibition continues through October 25.
A registered architect and founding principal of CAMESgibson, Inc., Grant Gibson is committed to creating culturally relevant work.

Friends of Music and the Arts: Cellist D. Scot Williams
Friends of Music and the Arts (FOMA) is a program of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension that features local Knoxville musicians as well as notable ensembles on tour in a range of events. Although the program was halted during the Covid-19 shutdown, the schedule for a 2021-22 season has just been announced.
The first event of the season features a recital by Knoxville cellist D. Scot Williams performing works by Bach, Crumb, and Cronin.

UT School of Music — Pianist Kirill Gliadkovsky
At long last, live public performances from the UT School of Music have returned. Their immensely popular guest artist series is underway.
Dr. Gliadkovsky combines his busy concert schedule with teaching at Saddleback College (southern California) as a Professor of Piano and Director of Keyboard Studies. Prior to coming to Saddleback, he has been on the piano faculty at USC and Santa Monica College and served as the head of piano area at SUU (Southern Utah University) in Cedar City, UT.

East Tennessee Historical Society: Shaver – An Artist of Rare Merit
Through January 30, 2022
Shaver: An Artist of Rare Merit traces Samuel Moore Shaver’s maturation through the 19 portraits held by the East Tennessee Historical Society and the Calvin M. McClung Historical Collection, Knox County Public Library. The exhibition is organized on the occasion of three recent Shaver acquisitions, making the East Tennessee History Center the largest repository of the artist’s works.

This exhibition of paintings by the native Knoxvillian Alex Smith includes works of New York’s grit alongside East Tennessee’s verdant landscape, ranging from hyper-realism to abstracts.

The artist challenged himself to make 50 bud vases in 50 days, each beginning as a 6” x 6” x 2” block of ash.
