Here are a few events you may want to keep in mind for the week.
Clarence Brown Theatre – Lab Theatre: Adaptive Radiation
Hannah Benitez’ play Adaptive Radiation premiered in 2018.
“Four youths are catapulted into whimsical chaos by a strange, contagious, other-worldly spec of light. A mystical, energetic comedy that asks us to look into our assumptions about adulthood, career and education as we reflect on the need to take action, before falling prey to the existential blackness inhibiting our contemporary world.”
Directed by Terry D. Alford, the play will run in the Clarence Brown Theatre’s Lab Theatre on the University of Tennessee campus from October 19 – November 6.
Previews on Wednesday and Thursday, October 19 and 20, 7:30 PM
Opening Night on October 21 at 7:30 PM
Tuesday thru Saturdays at 7:30 PM; Sundays at 2:00 PM thru November 6.
There will be no performance this Saturday, October 22, due to UT’s Homecoming festivities.

“The second concert in the NXT GEN series will feature bandleaders Margherita Fava and Sam Adams. Adams will open the evening with a set dedicated to Knoxville’s very own jazz legend, the great Donald Brown. This set will feature arrangements of Brown’s music as well as Adams’ original compositions inspired by and dedicated to Mr. Brown. The night will continue with Margherita Fava’s tribute to late great composer and trumpeter Roy Hargrove, who’s musical voice influenced the sound of popular music from the 1990s onward. “
