Knoxville Museum of Art Opens Reimagined Higher Ground
After months of enjoying a re-imagining and re-installation process, Higher Ground: A Century of the Visual Arts in East Tennessee, the permanent exhibition of the Knoxville Museum of Art, will reopen to public view on Friday, November 3, with a reopening reception from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.
The re-installed exhibition has been moved to two renovated galleries on the main entry floor, giving more space to some of the museum’s notable pieces in its collection. The museum feels that the enlarged Higher Ground will present a fuller and more detailed picture of the collection, communicating a more sophisticated, diverse, and nuanced impression.
