Sometimes it just happens. Due to a last minute conflict at the original venue, the first of two performances of Puccini’s Il Tabarro, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 22, will now be performed on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum at 7:00 p.m., 576 Unicoi Turnpike (that’s TN State Route 360) in Vonore, TN. The second performance will be performed as originally announced at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Melton Lake Park, 697 Melton Lake Drive, Oak Ridge, TN.
Executive Artistic Director Kathryn Frady said, “We were informed by our original venue in Vonore that the timing of their construction project had changed and that they wouldn’t be able to safely accommodate our audience. We explored several options and are thankful that we will be able to perform along the water on the beautiful property of the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum.”
Tickets for June 22 may be exchanged for either Friday, June 21 or Sunday, June 23, or ticket holders may receive a refund. Those wishing to purchase tickets to Il Tabarro may do so at MarbleCityOpera.com/tickets.

Michele catches a longshoreman named Luigi on his way to meet Giorgetta late one night and operatic tragedy ensues.
