ARTS KNOXVILLE was created in 2014 in response to the closure of the alternative weekly Metro Pulse, and expanded in 2017 following the closure of the Knoxville Mercury. With the goal of maintaining the arts journalism legacy of those alt-weeklies, ARTS KNOXVILLE strives for objective coverage of classical and new music, theatre, opera, film, visual arts, dance, and literature that reveals the depth of local arts and artistry.
