Arts Knoxville is the host for news and reviews of the art and music scene in Knoxville.
Alan Sherrod founded Arts Knoxville in 2014. He was the classical and new music writer for the Knoxville Mercury from its launch in March 2015 until its closure in July 2017. Previously, he was the classical music writer for Metro Pulse from 2007 until its closure in October 2014. He has also contributed music content to the Nashville Scene and other publications around the U.S. He was a recipient of a 2010 Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts — the Arts Journalism Institute in Classical Music and Opera — under the auspices of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
